SUZANNE VEGA: "CARAMEL"

SUZANNE VEGA: "NEW YORK IS A WOMAN"

De su último disco, "Beauty & Crime". Disculpen por el A7/C#, pero es ése y no otro. No es tan difícil, vamos, y vale la pena: esa progresión de acordes, con los bajos bien marcados, es una delicia.

Intro: |Em - B7/Eb - G/D - A7/C# - C - B7|

|G| New York City |D/A| spread herself be- |E| fore you (bajo: b - d)
With her |C| bangles and her |G| spangles and her |D/A| stars
|G| ... You were im- |D/A| pressed with the |E| city so undressed (b - d)
You |C| had to go out |D/A| cruising all the |G| bars |G|

Your |G| business trip ex- |D/A| tended through the |E| weekend (b - d)
Su- |C| burban boy |G| here for your first |D/A| time
From the |G| twenty-seventh |D/A| floor a- |E| bove the midtown roar (b - d)
You were |C| startled by her |D/A| beauty and her |G| crime

......And she's |Fmaj7| every girl you've seen in every |Cmaj7| movie
......|Fmaj7| Every dame you've ever known on |Cmaj7| late night TV
............In her |Em| steam and |B7/Eb| steel is the |G/D| passion you |A7/C#| feel
............|C| ... En- |B7| dlessly

............|G| New York is a |D/A| woman she'll |E| make you cry (b - d)
............|C| And to her you're |D/A| just another |G| guy

|G| ... Look down and |D/A| see her ruined |E| places (b - d)
|C| Smoke and ash still |G| rising to the |D/A| sky
She's |G| happy that you're |D/A| here but |E| when you disappear (b - d)
She |C| won't know that you're |D/A| gone to say |G| goodbye

Instr: |Fmaj7 - Cmaj7| x 2 |Em - B7/Eb - G/D - A7/C# - C - B7|

 ...........|G| New York is a |D/A| woman she'll |E| make you cry (b - d)

SUZANNE VEGA: "MY FAVORITE PLUM"

Intro: Tab. 1

|Am| My favorite |E| plum... |Am| hangs so |Dm| far from |E| me
|F| See how it |E| sleeps... |Dm7| and hear how it |Dm6| calls to |E| me
......|C| See how the flesh |Em| presses the skin,
......|Gm| It must be bursting with |Dm| secrets wi- |E| thin,
|F| I’ve seen the |E| rest, yes, and |Dm7| that is the |E| one for

|Am| me |Dm7 - E7| - |Am - Dm7 - E7|

|Am| See how it |E| shines... |Am| It will |Dm| be so |E| sweet
|F| I’ve been so |E| dry... |Dm7| It would make my |Dm6| heart com- |E| plete
......|C| See how it lays |Em| languid and slow
......|Gm| Never noticing |Dm| me here be |E| low
|F| I’ve seen the |E| best, yes, and |Dm7| that is the |E| one for

|Am| me |Am7+ - Am7 - Am6| |Dm6 - E7 - Am - F - E|

............|Am| Maybe a |Am7+| girl will take it
............|Am7| Maybe a |Am6| boy will steal it
............|Dm6| Maybe a |E7| shake of the bough
............will |Am| wake it and make it |F| fall |E|

|Am| My favorite |E| plum... |Am| lies in |Dm| wait for |E| me
|F| I’ll be right |E| here... |Dm7| longing |Dm6| endless- |E| ly
......|C| You’ll say that I’m |Em| foolish to trust
......But |Gm| it will be mine and I |Dm| know that it |E| must
cause
|F| I’ve had the |E| rest, yes and |Dm7| that is the |E| one for |Am| me
|Dm7| I’ve seen the |E| best, yes and |F| that is the |E7| one for |Am| me

Final: Tab. 2
