RUFUS WAINWRIGHT: "14TH STREET"

You've got my |G| lost |B7| brother's |Em| soul |G7/D|
My |C| dear mother's eyes... A |A7| brown horse's mane
And m--|G|--|F#7|--y |Am| un- |Am6| cle's name |D7sus4|

You walked me |G| down |B7| 14th |Em| Street |G7/D|
For the |C| doctor to meet after |A7| thoughts of the grave
In the |G| home of the |F#7| brave |Am| and |D7| of the |G| weak

......But |G| why'd you have to break |C/G| all my heart
......|G| Couldn't you've saved a |D7| little bit of it?
......|G| Why'd you have to break |C/G| all my heart?
......|G| Couldn't you've saved a |D7| minor part?

............I could've |Em| clipped and |Em/D| saved and
............|Em/C#| planted in the |Em/C| garden
............|Em/B - /C  - /C# - /D - /D#|
............|Em| Damn you |Em/D| guess I'll |Em/C#| have to get a |D| new one

I'd love to |G| sit and |B7| watch you |Em| drink |G7|
With the |C| reins to the world, |A7| gripping a smoke
|G| Vague- |F#7| ly |Am| mis- |Am6| sing |D7sus4| link

Don't ever |G| change you |B7| hungry little |Em| bashful hound |G7|
|C| I got the sheep, poor |A7| little Bo Peep
Has |G| lost |F#7| and |Am| filed |D7| for |G| grounds.

......But |G| why'd you have to break |C/G| all my heart
......|G| Couldn't you've saved a |D7| little bit of it?
......|G| Why'd you have to break |C/G| all my heart?
......|G| Couldn't you've saved a |D7| minor part?

............I could've |Em| ripped a-|Em/D| part and
............|Em/C#| thrown into the |Em/C| river
............|Em/B - /C  - /C# - /D - /D#| ............
............|Em| Wonder |Em/D| if there's |Em/C#| hearts that will de- |D| liver

..................Don't ever |G| change, don't ever |Cmaj7| worry
..................Because I'm |D#| coming back home to- |G| morrow
..................To 14th |G| Street where I won't |Cmaj7| hurry
..................And where I'll |D#| learn how to save, not just |G| borrow
..................And they'll be |Dm| rainbows and we will |E| finally know |E|

Inter: |G - B7 - Em - G7 - C - A7 - G - F#7 - Am - D7 - G|

......But |G| why'd you have to break |C/G| all my heart
......|G| Couldn't you've saved a |D7| little bit of it?
......|G| Why'd you have to break |C/G| all my heart?
......|G| Couldn't you've saved a |D7| minor part?

  1. no me convence la D en little bit of it y en minor part. Igualmente está maravilloso lo tuyo

  2. Puede que tenga razón. Probé anoche con un D7 y sonaba mucho mejor. Me parece que lo voy a cambiar, a mí tampoco me sonaba muy convincente.
